There are 2 week long holidays during the spring, summer and winter seasons.
* In order not to interfere with the smooth progress of successful learning, there are no extended holidays.

* All homeroom teachers are required to possess qualifications to teach as a homeroom teacher in elementary school in their native countries. In addition, they are required to have at least 5 years of practical teaching experience. All homeroom teachers are native English speakers.
* Tokyo West International Elementary School has three Japanese language arts specialists. This specialists They are qualified teachers.
* Other subject areas such as sports (including ball game sports, gymnastics, swimming, soccer, tennis, dance), art and music (including singing, keyboard, guitar and drums) are taught by specialists in each field that are on the staff of Kunitachi Kids International School.
* Although Tokyo West International Elementary School is a small school, through the sharing of our 20 talented teachers at Kunitachi Kids International School, we can provide a diverse and high quality education to students.

* The curriculum will be a mixed curriculum of Japanese and US teaching systems that will be taught in the English language.
* As has been the case with Kunitachi Kids International School, the educational level at Tokyo West International Elementary School will be a year ahead of average school curriculums. In other words, by the time the students graduate from elementary school, they will be able to understand and participate successfully in an average Gr7 classroom.
* If a Japanese student chooses to enter Japanese Junior High School after graduating from Tokyo West International Elementary School, the school will support the smooth transition of the student by providing a specialized intensive study course for this purpose. The course will be provided by the Japanese language arts specialist on staff

* PE is one of our main areas of focus, and will be overseen by 2 qualified and talented PE staff. One will oversee gymnastics and the other will oversee ball game sports. In regards to ball game sports, we will instruct each student in specific areas, such as soccer, tennis, basketball, volleyball to a level at which he or she can continue to enjoy those chosen sports as an adult. Our gymnastics teacher is a world class gymnast that qualified for the Australian Olympic Team. Gymnastics will cover the trampoline, the vault, balance beam, parallel bars, mat exercises and routines. The children will be trained in gymnastics to point at which they can present performance routines. We would like to teach the students the joy of physical exercise, teamwork, the importance of perseverance and for this purpose, we have PE every day. Swimming lessons will take place at a nearby contracted swimming school.

* Regarding music and art, professionals in these fields will be teaching. Music theory and keyboard will be taught to each child as a foundation of musical knowledge that will expand to a choice of guitar or drums from Gr4. By the time the student graduates from elementary school (Gr6), he or she will have the knowledge and skill to write simple musical scores. We aim to teach each child to read music and play the keyboard accordingly.

サッカーとテニスのレッスンは11月の月曜日と水曜日にそれぞれ開始されます。
なお、下記のとおり年間の休業があります。なお、生徒の学習進度を妨げることのないよう、長期のお休みはありません。
春休み：２週間、夏休み：２週間、冬休み：２週間

* Ｇ１-Ｇ６（2011年4月はＧ１・Ｇ２・Ｇ３の3学年募集中）の各学年クラス担任は、すべて、自国における小学課程の教員資格、および５年以上の実務経験を有するネイティブスピーカーです。
各学年クラス担任のほか、３名の日本語教師がおります。日本語教師は、日本の小学課程の教員資格または、日本語教師資格を保持しております。
また、体育（球技・体操・水泳・サッカー・テニス・ダンスなど）、音楽（ピアノ・ドラム・ギター）、アート、サイエンスは、くにたちキッズインターナショナルスクールKKISの教員が分担して担当します。
当校は、小規模な小学部ですが、KKISの30名におよぶ教員やスタッフが協力し、たいへん質の高い、多様なクラスを実現します。

* 日本・アメリカ・オーストラリアの小学課程カリキュラムを基に、各学科目を学びます。
各科目とも、小学部G6終了までに中学部G7以上のレベルを理解できるように指導します。
日本語に関しても、読み書きはもちろんのこと、日本の小学課程教員資格者もしくは、日本語教師資格者が徹底した集中指導をおこない、G6終了時には、日本の小学校卒業と同レベルの学力を身につけることができます。
そのため、毎日必ず日本語のクラスがあります。
日本語クラスは２～３クラスにレベルわけして行います。
その他の学科として、特に算数・英語に力を入れています。

* 体育に関しては、幼稚部同様、当校が特に力を入れており、球技と体操を２名の教員が担当します。
特に球技に関しては、いくつかに種目を絞り、将来長く楽しめるレベルに到達するまで、一貫した指導を行います。
広く浅くいろいろな種目を体験することも大切ですが、小学部6年間で、いくつかの書目を一応のレベルに到達するように指導することが、当校の特色のひとつとなっています。
球技は、男女とも、サッカー・テニス・バスケットボール・バレーボール・ドッジボール・ソフトボールを継続的に学びます。
また、体操に関しては、専門の体操選手から直接指導を受けることができます。
跳び箱、鉄棒、マット、平均台、トランポリンなど、発表会ができるレベルにまで無理なく到達させることが目標です。
体を動かすことの楽しさ、チームワーク、努力することの大切さなどをたくさん学んでほしいと考えています。
そのため、毎日必ず体育のクラスがあります。
なお、スイミングについては、通年、週１回、当校スイミングプール（室内）にて、当校コーチ(３名の有資格者)が指導をおこないます。

* 音楽・美術に関しても、専任教員が指導を行います。
特に音楽については、小学部卒業時に簡単な楽譜が読めること、キーボードを楽譜どおり演奏できること、を目標にしています。
さらに、G4からは、打楽器のドラムと弦楽器のギターを選択して楽しんで学びます。
小学部卒業時には、簡単な作曲ができるレベルまでの能力を身につけさせたいと考えています。
